Airlie Primary School

Modern extension and alterations to a late 19th century school building in Rural Angus, this 3 classroom school required careful re-organisation of the plan to create two new classrooms, upgrade toilet and ancillary space. The school also caters for 2-5 year-olds’ with a small nursery.

Wellwood Leslie provided a full architectural service to Angus Council, liaising with representatives from Angus Council, School staff members and the local community to design an appropriate facility for the schools’ rural catchment area. Careful consideration was taken as sensitive existing built fabric throughout all stages including: outline design, planning consent, detailed design, warrant and tender and finally contract administration to completion.
