David G. Leslie BArch (Hons) RIBA ARIAS
Partner dleslie@wellwoodleslie.com
David trained at Dundee University, School
of Architecture. His connection with the practice
began in 1977 when he joined Robbie &
Wellwood and became a partner in 1979. The practice
was renamed Wellwood Leslie in 1991 in recognition of
David's contribution to the practice. David
is also known as one of the Scottish Rugby’s
key figures. His skill at networking, managing
and developing relationships is invaluable
to the firm, as a result of which, many of
our jobs are for repeat clients. |

Brian A. Smith BSc BArch RIBA ARIAS MaPS
Partner bsmith@wellwoodleslie.com
Brian studied at Dundee University, School
of Architecture, completing his Part III in
1986. He joined Robbie Wellwood in 1988, becoming
a partner at Wellwood Leslie in 1999. Brian
has built up extensive experience particularly
in residential projects for both private and
public sectors. His specialist knowledge of
contract administration is a resource that
is greatly used throughout the office. Brian’s
skill at co-ordinating and managing large
scale development projects has enabled the
practice to grow in its ability to take on
major projects. |

Neil S. Simpson BSc BArch (Hons) RIBA
ARIAS
Partner nsimpson@wellwoodleslie.com
Neil trained at Dundee University, School
of Architecture and gained his Part III in
1995. He tutored at Dundee University until
joining Wellwood Leslie Architects in 1995.
Neil has been a partner at the practice for
7 years. He has gained significant experience
and completed a wide range of projects in
the leisure, commercial, educational, residential
and bio-technology sectors. Neil takes particular
interest in the design process and development
of the office’s projects, working with
the design team through all aspects of the
job. |

Hans U. Grabowski
Associate

Hans studied architecture at the Scott Sutherland
School of Architecture in Aberdeen, graduating
in 1995. He worked in Germany and London before
moving to Scotland, initially working for
a design and build contractor. Hans joined Wellwood
Leslie Architects in 2006 and has significant experience in
office accommodation, education, industrial
projects and a wide range of rural and agricultural
development. |

Stephen R. Mathewson HC Architectural
Technology, ONC Building
Senior Technician
smathewson@wellwoodleslie.com
Stephen was a student at the Abertay University
in Dundee. He has been with the practice since
1994. Stephen is now the Senior Technician
in the firm, heading up a team of 5 architectural
technicians. He is especially interested in
complex, highly serviced buildings, where organisation
and programming are essential. Stephen has
a wide technical knowledge and skill in co-ordinating
consultants, which is utilised in all aspects
of the firm’s work. |
