Wellwood Leslie Architects has a dedicated residential team with extensive experience in delivering successful projects across Scotland. Our expertise spans every stage of the development process, from site identification and feasibility studies through planning, technical design, sustainability strategies, construction, and project completion. We work across both new-build and refurbishment projects and provide Section 6 Certification services to support compliance with current building standards and energy performance requirements. The residential team is led by highly experienced professionals with extensive knowledge of the Affordable Housing and Residential sectors.

Sector Leaders:

Stephen, Partner of Dundee Office has delivered projects across a diverse range of sectors including healthcare, heritage, education, sport and leisure, and residential developments. In recent years he has developed particular expertise within the residential sector, working with housing associations, private developers, and individual homeowners. This experience has provided him with a detailed understanding of residential design, planning, procurement, and delivery, together with the challenges associated with a wide range of site conditions and project requirements. His involvement in multidisciplinary projects for high-profile clients has also developed strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.

Ken, formerly Managing Partner of KDM Architects and now part of the Wellwood Leslie Architects, brings more than 40 years of experience in the design and delivery of residential, commercial, and industrial projects. He has extensive experience working within the Registered Social Landlord sector and has successfully delivered projects for numerous housing associations and local authorities, including Hillcrest HA, Kingdom HA, Angus HA, Caledonia HA, Cairn HA, Perth & Kinross Council, and Dundee City Council.

Keith, Partner of the Glasgow office, brings over 35 years of experience in private practice. His extensive portfolio spans residential, commercial, leisure, industrial, cinema, and master planning projects. Throughout his career, Keith has designed, procured, and managed residential developments across a broad spectrum of typologies, including strategic master planning, mainstream housing developments, flatted residential schemes, social and affordable housing, specialist and supported accommodation, retirement living communities, purpose-built student accommodation, largescale urban regeneration projects, bespoke private residences, and low-energy and carbon-neutral housing. Current work on behalf of Maryhill Housing Association demonstrates our capability in delivering complex residential refurbishment and asset improvement. The project, with an overall value of circa £12m, includes the replacement of external wall insulation systems, replacement of windows, and replacement of roof-mounted communal ventilation systems with individual dwelling-based systems.
