RAVENSBY GLASS CO. LTD, DUNDEE

The composite panel cladding was designed and developed in collaboration with Morgan Associates Civil and Structural Engineers and NWP Ltd Quantity Surveyors. This additional floor space also enables the company to stock a wider range of glass products. As well as a new entrance to the building, the directors wanted the new reception and boardroom area to act as a showcase for the business, giving a flavour of the nature of the business while blending with the existing building. Wellwood Leslie worked closely with Ravensby to develop specialist glazing units to give an extensively glazed area using a curtain walling system. The highly insulating glazed units have high light transmission properties, while innovative solar control incorporates micro blinds into the glazed cavity for improved comfort. Ravensby were also able to produce colour matched ceramic glass to be used in the spandrel panels. This exciting project is a perfect example of the achievements that result from effective communication and cooperation between clients, architects and other agencies.
