High Street, Lochee
The location for this proposed flatted development is a site within the Lochee District Centre which is currently a vacant area of land being used as an unofficial off street carpark. The buildings previously on this site were demolished a number of years ago as part of the Highgate Area Redevelopment Plan.
The proposal is to provide a total of 14 new flats which will all be for the social rented market and includes two flats located at ground floor level which have been designed specifically for wheelchair users. The proposed external wall finishes will be red/brindle type facing brickwork to the main elevation facing Lochee High Street and to elements of the gable end walls and the rear staircase blocks.
The rear walls and the other parts of the gable end walls will be a red coloured render. The upper part of the wall on the four-storey block on the High Street side will be finished in grey coloured proprietary panelling as will a boxed-out window feature to the south gable wall. The roofs will be finished in plain grey interlocking roof tiles. All window frames and external doors will be grey coloured. Provision will be made for the future installation of services for an electrical car charging point.
