Sector: Conservation

This sector showcases a wide array of projects completed using our in-house conservation expertise and skills. Scotland’s rich cultural heritage, with its abundance of traditional buildings, provides growing opportunities to preserve and restore historic structures using time-honoured techniques and authentic materials. This approach is especially vital when working with category-listed buildings, where maintaining the original fabric and character of the structure is paramount.

Our conservation efforts involve the careful restoration and maintenance of delicate materials and elements, including stone masonry, lime mortar, lead sheets and flashings, cast and wrought ironwork, slated roofs, stained glass windows, internal plasterwork, sash and case windows, traditional ironmongery, and historic paintwork. Throughout every project, we adhere strictly to the Principles of Conservation, ensuring full compliance with both national and international heritage standards to protect the authenticity of each building.

Over the last decade, Wellwood Leslie Architects has successfully completed numerous conservation projects, underscoring our ongoing commitment to safeguarding Scotland’s architectural legacy.
