St Vincent’s Residential Development

Wellwood Leslie Architects are delighted to see the recent completion of the St Vincents development providing 21 no. much needed modern, affordable, and sustainable homes in the East End of Dundee. Built by Campion Homes for Angus Housing Association the project is located on the site of the former St Vincent’s Primary School on Pitkerro Road, which was demolished in 2019. The location offers excellent transport links and proximity to local retail and greenspace contributing to the Scottish Government’s desire for 20 minute neighbourhoods.

A mix of houses, cottage flats and supported accommodation has been provided to meet the requirements of Angus housing Association. These include eight 2-bedroom flats, six 3-bedroom semi-detached houses, and seven 2-bedroom supported bungalows with some units specifically adapted for wheelchair users. This development will help reduce pressure Dundee City Council’s social housing waiting list, and in particular caters for residents with special needs.

All properties have been designed to be well insulated and airtight with gas central heating, off-street parking, and roof mounted solar photovoltaic panels, supporting energy efficiency and sustainability.

Additionally, public electric vehicle (EV) charging stations have also been provided promoting wider greener transportation.

The St Vincent’s development provides much-needed high-quality, socially rented homes in a well-connected and revitalised part of Dundee.
